It was announced by the minister of information and culture that twitter has been suspended,in a statement issued in Abuja om friday being 4th of june.
It was, however, gathered that some Nigerians are still accessing the social media platform through a virtual private network (VPN).
The development prompted AGF(Attorney General of the Federation) Malami to instruct the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation to persecute those violating the Twitter suspension. The Cable also reported that the AGF's directive was contained in a statement released by his spokesman, Umar Gwandu.
“Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN directed the immediate prosecution of offenders of the Federal Government ban on Twitter operations in Nigeria.
