The Edo State Migration Agency; formal Edo State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking (ETHAT) is established by the Edo State Migration Law to addressing migration-related issues within the state. With a broader mandate, the Agency is tasked to managing migration, protect human rights, combat trafficking in person, facilitate the reintegration of returning migrants and foster sustainable development through effective migration policies.
The agency collaborates with relevant stakeholders to promote a safe and supportive environment for potential and returning migrants.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Nurse
Location: Edo
Responsibilities
- Perform daily nursing activities to fulfil technical requirements, including medical examinations such as checking vital signs, weight, height, and visual acuity.
- Conduct blood, urine, or sputum collection as required. Provide treatment, referrals, and pre-departure procedures.
- Ensure accurate documentation, certification, and information transmission. Provide detailed explanations to returnees regarding treatments and referrals. Conduct comprehensive history taking and accurate biodata collection. Verify proper transportation of samples to the laboratory.
- Monitor and maintain stock of medical kits and emergency supplies.
- Offer counselling to returnees on TB or HIV education, prevention, and management.
- Prepare administrative reports and programme updates. Support planning and execution of mobile missions. Perform medical escort duties when required.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with various partners for relevant information sharing.
Education and Experience (Essential)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science with a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
- Valid license to practice nursing in Nigeria. Excellent technical skills, including phlebotomy.
- Training or experience in tuberculosis management, immunizations, mental health, or public health is an advantage.
- Strong clinical skills to perform medical examinations and technical procedures. Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access).
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Experience in counselling, health promotion, or migration health is a plus. Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to maintain detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
