
The fish breeder explained that she ones check-mate between her business and a white colar job.She has investigate about working in an office in Abuja but she had a change of mind after she accompanied her husband to his fish pond. She noted that her husband owns a fish pond near the Abuja city gate in a Fulan settlement known as ‘Ruga’.
Hamidu expressed that she immediately developed interest in fish breeding. She added that she received motivation after the federal government asked people to partake in agricultural ventures. According to her, it is possible to start a fish pond with N600,000, she added that she started her fish farm with 3.5 million naira. The fish breeder who has grown to love fisheries expressed that she would not accept a well-paid white collar job over fisheries. Hamidu just clocked one year in the business, she would be graduating to fish hatchery, consultancy and training of would-be fresh-water fish farmers. The woman sells fingerlings, juveniles and jumbos of catfish and even hybrids based on demand.
